Singapore 2016

Best Christmas ever! Me and my family celebrated our Christmas together in Singapore. Singapore is known as the Lion City and it is a sovereign city-sate in Southeast Asia. Singapore is located just below Malaysia as a tiny dot. That is why Singapore is commonly known as the “Little Red dot” Singapore is a very cultural place and it is clean and nice.

Last December 25, 2016 at exactly 8:00 in the morning we arrived at the Singapore Changi Airport. Changi Airport is one of the best airports in the world. I was super excited that time because it was one of my bucket lists, to visit the Garden City or the Little Red Dot. During our first day we went to Orchard Central. Orchard Central is a shopping mall in Singapore located along the main shopping belt at Orchard Road. Orchard Central has ingeniously differentiated itself through a myriad of new experiences including weaving fine art. I remember that time I was super tired, sobrang pagod ako sa byahe but when I saw the Orchard Central Roof Garden as in wala akong masabi kung hindi “Wow”

The next day we have four itineraries, our first itinerary is China Town Singapore. Singapore’s Chinatown is known as Niu che shui. As the largest ethnic group in Singapore is Chinese, Chinatown is considerably less of an enclave than it once was. However, the precinct does retain significant historical and cultural significance.

Our second itinerary is the Merlion Park. Merlion is one of the main tourist spot and it is the national personification of Singapore. The Merlion was first used in Singapore as the logo for the tourism board. The Merlion is similar to the heraldic sea-lion  which occurs in a number of different artistic traditions.

After Merlion Park, we went to Gardens by the bay. Bay Central Garden will act as a link between Bay South and Bay East Gardens. Gardens by the Bay is part of a strategy by the Singapore government to transform Singapore from a “Garden City” to a “City in a Garden”. The stated aim is to raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city.

The last but not the least is Sentosa. Sentosa is a popular island resort in Singapore. Sentosa can be reached from the Singapore mainland via a short causeway or Cable car, which originates from Mount Faber and passes through HarbourFront en route to its final destination at Imbiah Lookout. Sentosa opened an intra-island Cable Car to facilitate commuting within the island. Dubbed the sky network, the Cable Car has 3 stations, in Siloso, Imbiah and near the Merlion, and is not linked to the original Cable Car.

Sentosa offers a variety of attractions, museums and other facilities to provide a variety of experiences, recreation including entertainment to visitors.
